Partnering with Envision Greater Green Bay to Bring Strategic Foresight to Wisconsin Nonprofits
A new three-year partnership between Common Good Philanthropies and Envision Greater Green Bay will help Wisconsin nonprofits navigate change and plan for the future. As the recipient of our 2026 Strategic Funding Award, Envision will bring Strategic Foresight to organizations serving the long-term services and supports (LTSS) sector. Through this work, nonprofit leaders will gain practical tools to anticipate change, strengthen organizational planning, and become better prepared to meet the evolving needs of the people and communities they serve.
This partnership reflects Common Good Philanthropies’ broader commitment to systems change. By helping nonprofits build resilience and take a longer-term view, we hope to create the conditions for greater innovation, collaboration, and new approaches to persistent challenges across the LTSS sector.
Together, we aim to foster a more sustainable and effective nonprofit ecosystem—one where organizations can respond to shared challenges, pursue new opportunities, and better LTSS throughout Wisconsin.
About Envision Greater Green Bay
Founded in 1990 as the Bay Area Community Council (BACC), Envision was originally tasked with coordinating diverse interests across Green Bay to achieve shared strategic goals and objectives for the community. In 2020, BACC rebranded as Envision Greater Green Bay, signaling an expanded focus on Strategic Foresight and long-term community planning.
What is Strategic Foresight?
Strategic Foresight helps leaders anticipate the potential effects of change, identify emerging disruptors, and consider a range of possible futures. By exploring different scenarios, organizations can make more informed decisions, respond proactively to change, and move toward their preferred future.
Through in-person and virtual workshops, Envision will equip nonprofit leaders with the tools to scan for emerging trends and prepare for what may lie ahead. Facilitated by University of Houston-trained futurists, the workshops will help participating organizations apply a foresight mindset and incorporate their insights into ongoing organizational strategy.
Be a part of this Statewide Movement
Beginning in fall 2026, Envision will conduct a Statewide Discovery Survey to better understand the current realities, challenges, and priorities of Wisconsin nonprofits working in the LTSS space. The findings will shape the initial Strategic Foresight offerings and establish a foundation for programming that will continue to evolve throughout the three-year partnership.
As the initiative develops, organizations will have opportunities to learn alongside peers, explore new approaches, and strengthen their capacity to respond to challenges across the sector. Over time, this work can contribute to a more connected, adaptable, and sustainable network of nonprofits serving older adults and people with disabilities throughout Wisconsin.
