History
Inclusa, Inc. was formed as a nonprofit managed care organization to operate the Family Care Program throughout the state of Wisconsin in 2000. Common Good Philanthropies (previously Inclusa Foundation) was formed as the result of the acquisition of Inclusa, Inc.’s assets by Humana in 2023. The acquisition provides funds that support grant-making opportunities and sustainable organizations.
We draw on 25 years of leadership and connection in Wisconsin’s Family Care landscape to advance policy changes that make grantee work possible. Our strategic investments create space for long-term planning and sustainable growth.
Our Story. Our Purpose.
See how we're working to build systems where all people thrive.
Why We're Here
Wisconsin has made significant progress shifting long-term services and supports from institutional care to home and community-based services. Yet meaningful inclusion requires autonomy, connection, and opportunity. We support efforts that advance more inclusive, non-congregate service models that strengthen independence and community life.
Our work is focused in Wisconsin and grounded in the state’s unique long-term services and supports (LTSS) ecosystem. We do not fund services already supported through Family Care or IRIS, but we invest in innovative models that may inform and strengthen those programs over time. We also support leadership development and policy education to help Wisconsin’s long-term services system remain strong and forward-looking.
Where Commonunity® Comes to Life
Common Good Philanthropies is located within The Commons Community Nonprofit Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Originally envisioned by the leadership of Inclusa, Inc., The Commons brings together nine nonprofit organizations in a shared space designed for faster collaboration, connection, and collective impact. It’s a living example of Commonunity®, where organizations come together to strengthen communities in ways none could achieve alone.
